Africa´s Premier Training Institute on Solar Power offers its first training course "DGS Solar Power Designer grid-tied" in Egypt from 21 to 23 December 2014 in Cairo.
maxx-solar academy is offering a world-class training on PV System design, in line with the know-how of the German DGS (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Sonnenenergie - German Solar Enregy Society), and tailored to fit the Egyptian Market.
Join now and learn how to:
- Perform site surveys,
- Consult your customers to design the right PV system,
- Design grid-tied PV system according the consumption patterns,
- Select the system components, and auxiliaries,
- Prepare a feasibility study and quotation for roof-top, grid-tied PV systems.
Why should I participate?
The Government of Egypt has ratified the feed-in tariff for grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) Systems. The PV market is thus moving towards finding technically and financially viable PV systems for various target groups.
This course is designed to equip engineers, designer, consultants, and project managers with both the information required and the line of thought necessary to technically design a profitable grid-tied PV system. The course will also educate participants on generating the evidence, be it a feasibility study and/or yield study. In addition, PV Project management shall be addressed.
The DGS master designer, Dr.-Ing. Matthias Klauss will be the trainer of this course. He has more than 10 years experience in the planning and construction of photovoltaic (PV) systems ranging in size from 1 kWp to 20 MWp. He is an authorised expert of PV systems and an accredited DGS trainer since 2008. He is also the president of the German RAL Quality Control Association for Solar Energy Systems and Vice-president of the DGS Thuringia

Photovoltaics experts join forces to deliver high-quality PV solutions for the South African market
Bad Staffelstein / Johannesburg, May 21, 2014 – maxx | solar energy (Pty) Ltd, a photovoltaic specialist established in South Africa and subsidiary of the German maxx I solar & energie GmbH and Co. KG, has entered into an agreement with the German IBC SOLAR AG, a global leader in photovoltaic (PV) systems. maxx I solar energy is now IBC SOLAR’s exclusive distribution partner for the South African PV market. As a Premium Partner, maxx I solar energy will source its PV product portfolio from IBC SOLAR. Both parties benefit from this mutual agreement: IBC SOLAR guarantees its Premium Partner a reliable supply of high-quality products and services, whilst maxx | solar energy is familiar with the local market structure and offers a strong network of well-trained installers in South Africa.
From April 2014, maxx | solar energy (Pty) Ltd. will have complete exclusivity as IBC SOLAR Premium Partner for the whole South African market for the next three years. The company operates two warehouses in South Africa which will supply local photovoltaic installers with systems and components for small and medium-sized PV installations of up to 50 kilowatt peak (kWp), focussing on the residential sector, such as private households and smaller businesses.
maxx | solar energy (Pty) Ltd. will also handle larger PV systems from 50 to 500 kWp for commercial self-consumption in the business and industry sector. Thanks to its German parent company, maxx I solar energy South Africa can draw upon years of experience in planning of all types of solar energy systems.
“The South African PV market holds significant potential for growth, particularly when it comes to small and medium-sized roof installations for private households and commercial self-consumption,” said Dieter Ortmann, CEO of the German maxx-solar & energie GmbH & Co. KG and its subsidiary in South Africa. Besides the perfect geographical conditions in South Africa, solar energy self-consumption solutions are highly attractive for companies: as their business depends on a stable electricity grid, these PV systems present a back-up for South Africa’s unstable power supply.
Of the new partnership, Ortmann said: “Thanks to the maxx-solar academy which we founded in South Africa in 2011, our company is well-known and well-established in the country.” The academy was set up in cooperation with the DGS Solarschool Thuringia and is represented in Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. Until now, the maxx-solar academy has trained over 600 installers, engineers and managers, who represent a strong network and the basis for the successful business activities of maxx | solar energy (Pty) Ltd. and IBC SOLAR in South Africa. “We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and see this as an integral and core part of our business. We are looking forward to further developing our presence in this important market together with IBC SOLAR to provide our customers with the best products and services, which have been tested to the highest German quality standards,” Ortmann adds.
IBC SOLAR shares this commitment, which makes this partnership not only fruitful for both companies, but also beneficial for the customers. IBC SOLAR is internationally established, with subsidiaries and Premium Partners in more than 30 important and growing international markets in and outside of Europe. For the PV expert, premium partnerships have proven successful in many other markets, in which IBC SOLAR has enjoyed long-standing relationships with its Premium Partners. Well-established in their local markets, the Premium Partners are familiar with the markets’ cultural peculiarities and structures, and offer solutions that meet the specific needs of their customers. In return, IBC SOLAR guarantees its partners a reliable supply of high-quality products, unique service, and access to the know-how and experience of one of the pioneers of the PV industry.
